Rose graduated with 2nd class hons (upper) in Biological Sciences (National University of Singapore). Following an interest in intellectual property (IP), she has also acquired a Postgraduate Diploma in Copyright Law (King’s College, University of London), an MSc in IP Management (Queen Mary College, University of London) and an MA in Education & Human Development (The George Washington University).
Her professional interests & experience are correspondingly as varied, in policy, industry & capability development, public awareness, education & training, and international collaborations through stints at the National Science & Technology Board (NSTB now A*STAR), the IP Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the Singapore IP Academy (IPA).
Starting from her time in IPOS where she evolved internal KM & capability programmes to outreach and national IP capability development initiatives, as Director of the Capability Development unit, her great interest is understanding how people learn. As Deputy Director of the Singapore IP Academy she launched new education and skills development programmes in the application of IP for sectors such as in the copyright industries, government and in local small & medium sized enterprises.
The NUS Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL) is a great fit as the IEL team champions new experiential learning initiatives to nurture leaders for the future. Helping students learn through action and reflection to develop as leaders, fulfils her personal noble goal of helping others to grow, believing that “the growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership.”
