Who is involved?

The module will be led by Adjunct Professor Virginia Cha of the NUS Business School and IEL.

What are the learning objectives of this module?

Students should be able to:

  • Function more effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse (engineering) teams and in multi-disciplinary settings.
  • Conduct interviews and analyse data from primary sources.
  • Understand and be able to launch a digital quantitative landing page for additional market research data.
  • Define, investigate and analyse complex problems.
  • Recognize complexity and assess alternatives in the light of competing requirements and incomplete knowledge.
  • Design solutions to complex problems – using appropriate design methodologies.
  • Perform market research and industry structure analysis.
  • Articulate clearly a solution to an external and non-engineering audience.

How will you be graded?

This is a 4 MCs graded module.

50% will be graded on the team deliverables for the project problem statement. 25% will be on your participation and individual contribution to class learning and also team work. 25% will be on your individual learning reflection journal.

What are the prerequisites?

No academic prerequisites but an understanding of technology, a love for learning, a questioning and open mind, some maker skills and the courage to try something new will stand you in good stead.

How does the module work?

In each session, new tools and methodologies will be introduced by the instructor.

You and your team will have a chance to practice the tools/methodologies in the class with some examples.

What is the schedule?

Classes will take place Wednesday afternoons 300-600 PM. Classes will be conducted at TechHub, E2-03-02/03.
