Biomedical Engineering

Graduate Certificate in Medical Devices Regulatory Affairs (GCMDRA)

This year-long programme is tailored for busy working professionals who wish to equip themselves with knowledge and experience in the global regulatory framework of the medical device industry. GCMDRA is jointly organised by NUS Engineering and Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), the largest global organisation involved with regulation of healthcare and related products, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics and nutritional products.

Civil & Environmental Engineering

Graduate Certificate In Geotechnical Engineering

The programme is for anyone with a B.Eng. (Civil Engineering) degree, B.Eng. (Environmental Engineering with minor in Civil Infrastructure) degree, or equivalent, who is interested in advancing or updating his/her knowledge in Geotechnical Engineering.

With a long pipeline of major infrastructure works, including new MRT lines, the North-South expressway, Changi Airport Terminal 4 and phase 2 of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, the demand for engineers with in-depth geotechnical engineering knowledge is expected to be strong. The short courses in this Graduate Certificate programme aim to help engineers advance their knowledge in geotechnical engineering technology, tunnelling and deep excavation.

Participants under this programme will be exposed to advanced knowledge of Foundation Systems, Deep Excavations, Earth Retaining Systems, and Ground Improvement.

Graduate Certificate In Structural Design Technology

The programme is open to any Bachelor degree holders, in particular B.Eng. (Civil Engineering) degree and B.Eng. (Environmental Engineering with minor in Civil Infrastructure), or equivalent.

With a long pipeline of major infrastructure works including Changi Airport Terminal 5 and the 3-runway system, JTC’s Integrated Logistics Hub, home improvement programme for HDB flats, the new MRT lines, North-South expressway, and phase 2 of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, the demand for engineers with up-to-date knowledge in Structural Design Technology in particular, the design in accordance with Euro Codes that have recently been enforced.

Participants under this programme will be exposed to advanced knowledge in structural design of various construction materials covering mainly concrete, steel, and their composites. State of the art technology including Design for Deconstruction (DfD), Innovative Precast Technology, and Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) will be covered to enhance construction productivity.

Graduate Certificate In Construction Productivity Enhancement

The programme is open to any Bachelor degree holders, in particular B.Eng. (Civil Engineering) degree and B.Eng. (Environmental Engineering with minor in Civil Infrastructure), or equivalent.

The programme aims at providing knowledge and competitive edge in productivity enhancement as well as in virtual design and construction. Further value-added skills in evaluating economics feasibility and risks in projects will also become an essential part of the programme.

Institute For Engineering Leadership

Institute For Engineering Leadership Programmes

In NUS Engineering, the Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL) conducts experiential modules providing opportunities to develop leadership skills through innovation and entrepreneurship experiences. Modules may be adapted for in-house application.

Organisations may also propose projects that could feed into modules, as teams can be formed to explore tech-to-market or market-to-tech opportunities, or work towards developing a tech solution for an identified problem statement. IEL leverages on academic expertise and experts from industry, thus providing both academic structure and rigour, as well as practice insights, in its modules.

NUS Engineering Lecture Series

The NUS Engineering Lecture Series is a premier platform of NUS Engineering to celebrate its peaks of excellence and thought leadership, and showcase to the academic community and our industry partners, important contributions made by its staff to sea change developments in engineering. The lectures are given by Professors in the Faculty who have made distinguished research contributions. The lecture will be for 45 minutes followed by a 15-minute Question & Answer session.
