Among the Top Ten in global university rankings by subject
The University was ranked in 36 subjects, with 26 subjects making it to the global top 20.
NUS Deputy President of Academic Affairs and Provost Tan Eng Chye said that the University’s performance reaffirms its strong expertise in areas, such as engineering and technology, natural sciences, and social sciences and management. He added, “We will continue to deepen our efforts in delivering quality education and engaging in cutting-edge research, and strive towards creating distinct value for Singapore, the region and beyond.”
The QS World University Rankings by Subject has been published annually since 2011, and is based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. The subject areas considered for the Rankings included engineering and technology, natural sciences, arts and humanities, social sciences and management, life sciences and medicine. This year, QS added four new subjects – Anatomy & Physiology; Hospitality & Leisure Management; Sports-related subjects; and Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies. The total number of subjects measured for the Ranking is 46.
