Dr Wesley Zheng receives the JCI TOYP (Singapore) Award 2018
At the recent JCI (Junior Chamber International) TOYP (Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World) Singapore Awards 2018 held on 12 August at the Resorts World Sentosa Leo Ballroom, Dr Wesley Zheng was among the ten recipients who received their award from the Guest-of-Honour, Dr Teo Ho Pin, Mayor of North West CDD and Member of Parliament for Bukit Panjang Constituency.
An Assistant Professor in NUS Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Dr Zheng was recognised as a Singapore Honoree for his outstanding achievements in his field of work as well as contribution to the community. He is invited to represent Singapore at the TOYP World Awards to be held later this year, and will be one of the speakers at the TOYP Youth Forum.
Organised by JCI, the JCI TOYP is an award that has been given out worldwide annually since 1983, and past winners include John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Benigno Aquino and many other luminaries. More importantly, the award serves as a platform for winners to contribute to society on an ever greater level. JCI is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
