Things to take Note

  • You should submit your requests once you accepted the SEP offer and allow at least 2-3 weeks for module mapping results.
  • Submitting a request at the last minute and pushing for the approval stating it’s urgency is not appreciated.
  • Do not send duplicate mapping requests as it takes up unnecessary mailbox space and additional time to process repeated requests.
  • If you do not hear from us within 2-3 weeks time, please email us with the message – “No results on mapping” together with your attached module mapping request form for our attention.
  • There is no deadline for submitting mapping requests. Decisions made are final.
  • You should ensure that mapping is approved before you register for the overseas module(s) if credit transfer is imperative otherwise you might run the risk of not being able to transfer any credits back if the mapping is not approved.
  • You do not have to seek approval for modules that you read for enrichment purposes only. ie. You have no intention of transferring the credits back to NUS.
  • All modules taken overseas will be excluded from CAP computation should you wish to transfer the credits back to NUS. Please ensure that you do not violate the max. number of MCs allowed to be excluded from CAP when you do so.
  • If you wish to map a module to a specific NUS module, please ensure that both modules are similar in content/contact hours before submitting a request for mapping approval. Trying to map Japanese 1 to French 1 is not going to work.
  • It is possible to map modules which are not available at NUS. A dummy code will be issued by the approving authority for an approved module if there are no similar modules from NUS to be mapped to.
  • All module mapping requests needs to be submitted via your home faculty so as to ensure that your proposed mappings can be forwarded to the respective SEP coordinators and not delay the review of your module mapping request.
  • Please provide an English translation where applicable. Descriptions in other languages will not be approved.
