FoE offers a host of enhancement programmes (EP) aimed at broadening our engineering students' education. Students are encouraged to register for the various enhancement programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering and various departments (please see left panel). The enhancement programmes will be applicable and available to all engineering students. After streaming into the various departments, each student will be assigned a faculty member in his/her own department who will act as his/her mentor throughout the duration of participation in the enhancement programmes. The mentor may advise the student on what activities to select in this program and keep track of the student's progress through the years. The onus is on the student to register early with the various programme coordinators if they wish to participate in those programmes.

The student is to register for the various activities from the enhancement programmes registration website through the Office of Undergraduate Programmes, who will monitor if a student has fulfilled the requirements through a database, and inform Registrar's Office accordingly.

Students can select any of these programmes to satisfy the Unrestricted Elective Modules' MCs. Students, however, can only obtain the MCs of each programme only once. This is to encourage students to do a variety of programs. It is important to note that students are allowed to do either VIP or IAP, but not both. Students who have applied for overseas summer programmes will not be eligible to apply for VIP and vice versa.
