2. English Modules |
| |
EG1413 Critical Thinking & Writing is a faculty
requirement, i.e. you need to pass this module in
order to graduate (except for Polytechnic direct entry
students who are exempted from reading this module). It would be in
students' best interest to clear this module as soon as possible. Students are to bid for this module via CORS from Round 1A onwards
The
pre-requisites of EG1413 are:-
-
Grade B4 and above for General Paper (GP)
in Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Levels examination, or
-
Grade C and above for General Paper (GP)
in International Cambridge 'A' Levels or High School
Certificate (HSC) in English medium, or
-
Pass with Band 5 and 6 for Qualifying English
Test (QET), or
-
Pass in EG1471 English for Academic Purposes
Students who
do not meet the minimum grade for GP are to sit for the
Qualifying English Test (QET).
-
Students who pass QET (in Band 5 and 6) will be
eligible to read EG1413.
-
Students who fail the QET (in Band 3 and 4) will
have to read and pass
EG1471 in order to be eligible to read EG1413.
-
Students who fail badly (Band 1 and 2) are
required to read and pass ES1000E
before they are allowed to read EG1471 and finally
EG1413.

- Students who are required to re-take EG1413
- Students in their senior years (year 2,

this module is a programme requirement; you
need to pass this module in order to
graduate.
In the event that all classes are full,
students may choose to read EG1413 in the
following semesters.
Students on University Scholars Programme
(USP) may choose to replace EG1413 with
relevant
Writing & Critical Thinking USP Modules.

EG2401 Engineering
Professionalism
This module is a Faculty Requirement.
Students have to pass this module in order to
graduate.
The module is open for bidding via
CORS from Round 1A onwards from
all Year 3 and Year 4 students.
Year 2 students may start bidding for this
module from Round 2A onwards for the
remaining vacancies.
Students who have successfully secured the
module will ballot for the Tutorials via CORS.

HR2002
Understanding Human Relations in the New Economy
Students on IA
Students on IA may choose to read
HR2002 in the evening during their IA period.
There are 50 places available:
Evening Classes Available:
EV11 - Monday, 6pm to 9pm [25 places]
EV21 - Wednesday, 6pm to 9pm [25 places]
As these evening classes are not available for
bidding, please register for the module via our E-form by 9 August 2007.
Details of Registration:
1. Places will be allocated based on first-come-first-served basis.
2. 1 bid point will be deducted at the point of pre-allocation.
3. Students who have been pre-allocated HR2002 and wish to withdraw from IA and/or HR2002 must drop HR2002 on their own via CORS. Bid points will not be refunded, unless HR2002 is dropped during the "F" grade period.
4. Module will be added to students in CORS upon approval.
5. Registration closing date is 9
August 2007. Late application will NOT
be considered.
Students on IA may also read other evening
modules. Please refer to the
IA website for more details.
Regular Returning Students
The following returning students who wish to read HR2002
have to bid for the module via CORS
from Round 1B onwards. Bids placed in Round 1A will be considered as advance bids.
