The Engineering Colours Awards
are primarily intended for the recognition of
engineering students who have excelled in Co-Curricular Activities
(CCAs). The categories of awards include:

Silver Medal Awards
Bronze Medal Awards
Certificates of Recognition |

The activities considered include:
- National-, varsity-, hall- and faculty-level games
- Clubs and society participation
- Special achievements, e.g., Mt. Everest trip, etc.
- Community services, voluntary works, etc.
Application Instructions:
- Applications must be on prescribed 2009
Engineering Colours Awards Form (click

- In a separate report of not more than ONE page, the applicant should select one/two of his/her top
CCAs
and highlights the details. Copies of awards
or certificates, if any, should be submitted
together with the application form as well.
- Students must obtain confirmation of participation in their respective activities/projects by way of signatures of the persons in-charge of the activities/projects.
- Please note that only activities from
1st September 2007 to 31st August 2008 will be considered. Students who were elected into office recently should apply in the subsequent year.
- Please submit the application form together with any other relevant documents to
Faculty of Engineering Office of Undergraduate Programmes
(EA-04-10) by 27Feb 2009.
Qualifying Criteria:
- Applications must be Engineering students.
- Activities to be considered must have been performed within the qualifying period
(i.e. from 1st September 2007 to 31st August
2008).
- Application must be on
prescribed application form.
- Applicants who have been awarded the
Engineering Colours Awards but failed to attend the
presentation ceremony shall have their awards
withdrawn by the Engineering Colours Awards
Selection Board unless a strong valid reason is
given.
Additional Points:
- All applicants should be aware that for them to submit the application forms does not automatically guarantee selection for the Awards or Certificates of Recognition.
- The decision of the Engineering Colours Awards Selection Board is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
- Applicants who have been short-listed for the Gold Medal Awards
may be requested to attend an interview conducted by the Engineering Colours Award Selection Board.
- Applicants who have been short-listed for the Gold Medal Awards will be requested to write two 1-page articles, namely (1) an article to highlight 1 and/or 2 main distinct accomplishments among
their CCAs that would distinguish and qualify them for the Gold Medal Award, and (2) an article on other activities that they have participated in. These two articles should include work that they have accomplished over the last three years.
- Award recipients will be notified by email.
