Engineering students
who are interested to pursue a higher degree in
Business & Management may like to consider doing a
Concurrent Master of Science (Management) Programme.
The
NUS Master
of Science (Management),
MSc(Mgt),
consisting of 20 management and leadership modules
drawn from the
BBA,
MBA &
PhD
curricula, is only available as a concurrent program
for eligible
current
NUS undergraduates
and exchange students from all NUS faculties and
schools. Students may gain this additional master's
degree generally with about one extra year's
coursework study and no research requirement.
Applications
are welcome anytime, and students are admitted
year-round. There are no application fees or
admission quota. Details

structure for the concurrent MSc(Mgt) programme
is as follows:

Domain Knowledge Requirements (DKR) segment
A student must complete
the following 10 modules, or 40 MCs, chosen from
modules currently offered in the
Minor in Business programme:
1. 4
Level-1000 modules or their equivalents;
2. 4
Level-2000 modules or their equivalents; and
3. 2
Level-3000 modules: 1 module, or its equivalent,
from each of 2 different areas out of those
available.

40-MC MSc Requirements
(MSR) segment
A student must complete
40 MCs from the modules below:
1. at
most 2
Level-4000 modules chosen from any offered by
the School of Business, or equivalent modules;
2. at
least 3
Level-5000/6000 research-type coursework modules
chosen from any offered by the School of Business ;
and
3. at
most 5
MBA-type modules chosen from any offered by the
School of Business , which had not been covered by
the student for the DKR segment.
No MSc(Mgt) module taken in NUS can be on the
satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis.

Degree Classification
The MSc(Mgt) degree will be awarded to students who
have
• earned at least a Second Class Lower division in
the B.Eng.(Hons.) programme and
• maintained a CAP of 3.5 in the modules counting
towards the MSc(Mgt) requirement.
Students who fulfill the DKR requirement of MSc(Mgt)
programme will be awarded a Minor in Business.
Exit
Students can choose to leave the Concurrent
programme, or can be required to leave if they fail
to meet requirements.
For example, students
who do not maintain a CAP of 4.0 in modules
contributing to the BEng(Hons) degree for any
two consecutive semesters will be required to leave
the Concurrent degree programme.
Students who choose to leave the Concurrent
programme are permitted to work for the B. Eng(Hons)
degree in the FoE. Common modules completed in the
Concurrent programme may be counted towards the
fulfillment of the BEng(Hons) degree
requirements.
