Special Programmes:

DDP with French Grandes Ecoles

Introduction:

In line with the objective of exposing our students to different academic environments and varied cultures, NUS also seeks to send students to non-English speaking universities in Europe. Students returning from these exchange programmes would have developed broader intellectual and social horizons and greater appreciation for other systems and cultures.

The Double Degree Programme (DDP) with the French Grandes Écoles provides the opportunities to learn from the best of both worlds, exposure to foreign cultures, networking with Singaporeans and foreigners, and proficiency in a third language. Each year up to 25 NUS students will be exposed to the best of the French education system in Engineering and Science - the “Grandes Écoles”.

NUS has set up its DDP with the following premiere French Grandes Écoles:

École Centrale Paris
École Polytechnique
École Supérieure d’Electricite
École des Mines de Paris
TELECOM ParisTech (École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications)

The selection process is based on academic merit and on the motivation and maturity of the students to thrive in France. They will spend the first two years in NUS, then leave for their “Grande École” in France for two more years, before returning to NUS to complete their Master’s degree at NUS.

Students will be conferred the Bachelor of Engineering degree with an appropriate class of honours after completing the first two years of undergraduate study in NUS and another two years of study in France. The Master of Engineering degree and the prestigious Diplôme d’Ingénieur will be conferred after completion of the graduate studies in NUS.

Recommended Semester Schedule:

The Faculty DDP coordinators and Administrators track the mapping of modules and selection of NUS modules to ensure that all requirements of the DDP can be satisfied. In consultation with the Programme Coordinators in the respective faculties, they will be able to advise you on the various necessary requirements (where applicable).
