Foundation Modules Program

~ a Fresher Course designed according to B.TECH Program

1. What are Foundation Modules?

The Foundation Modules Program is a short refresher course, specially designed to strengthen the foundation of students in mathematics and basic engineering topics so that they will be better able to cope with the B.TECH programme if they are admitted and have better chances of doing well in their courses. These courses are optional and attendance is not required for admission to the B.TECH Programme. It is entirely up to each individual if he/she wishes to attend. This program is opened to PUBLIC, however, due to limited seats; priority is given to current and prospective B.TECH Students.

To be well prepared for and to do well in a good engineering course in a university, students require a strong foundation in mathematics & engineering. In general, it is because the polytechnic diploma courses are not meant to prepare students for university studies and the curriculum time allocated to mathematics and basic engineering science is not as much as would otherwise be preferred.

The courses which are available are Mathematics, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Mathematics is suitable for any B.TECH course applied for while each of the other courses is specific only to the B.TECH course applied for.

*Updates: There will be 2 runs per year: Nov - Jan and Jun - Aug

Frequently Asked Question is available on B.TECH Website: http://btech.eng.nus.edu.sg/admission/faq.html#Math
