Institute for Engineering Leadership

Mission and Objectives

The Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL)

In today's dynamic, technologically-advanced knowledge economy, mere technical competency will not guarantee success within the engineering fields. The next generation of engineering leaders has to possess strong abilities and the skills to communicate, manage and set direction. A successful engineer must be innovative, resourceful and entrepreneurial, as well as be able to work and integrate ideas across various disciplines.

The Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL) was set up specifically with this end in mind – to nurture the future leaders of the engineering profession, who will advance the field to the next level and to help create new products, services and enterprises.
