Dr. Yeo is Senior Director in WIPS, a fast
growing South Korean patent solution
provider; and based out at the
Representative Office located in Singapore.
He heads the Global Business Development &
Consulting arm of WIPS; provides patent
database, consultancy and expertise on
patent analytics to top corporations and
universities including government
organisations, policy makers, as well as
pharmaceutical companies globally. Dr. Yeo
has in-depth and extensive experience in
patent and scientific information analysis
and is a frequent conference speaker on
intellectual property management issues;
particularly technology innovation &
application, patent landscaping and
competitive intelligence in the field of
technology management.
Previously, Dr. Yeo was Principal Consultant
(Intellectual Property Solution) at Thomson
Reuters & Honorary Advisor at Oliver Quek
and Associates (Advocates and Solicitors)
law firm in Singapore. He has held other
technical research and intellectual property
related key positions at government bodies
in Singapore, namely, Defence Medical and
Environmental Research Institute (a division
of Defence Science Organisation) and Exploit
Technologies Pte. Ltd (the commercialization
arm of the Agency for Science and Technology
Agency Research). Dr. Yeo had also taught as
Adjunct Assistant Professor at the
Department of Electrical and Electronic
Engineering at Nanyang Technological
University, Singapore. He was also Chartered
Physicist at the Institute of Physics, U.K.
and Post-Doctoral Research Fellow on a
European Commission Fund at Glasgow
University, Scotland.
An Overseas Research Scholar sponsored by
the Committee of Vice Chancellor and
Principals; U.K., Dr. Yeo holds a Ph.D. and
a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree
with First Class Honours, majoring in
laser-biological applications from Glasgow
University, Scotland. He was also a
Singapore Institute of Management Scholar
and graduated with an M.B.A. from University
at Buffalo (S.U.N.Y.; USA). During his days
in Scotland, Dr. Yeo was President of the
Singapore Society Association at Glasgow
University and Music Director of Calvary
Charismatic Church in Glasgow.
