    FEANI, is a federation of professional engineers that unites national engineering associations from 29 European countries. Thus, FEANI represents the interests of over 3.5 million professional engineers in Europe. FEANI is striving for a single voice for the engineering profession in Europe and wants to affirm and develop the professional identity of engineers.

    Through its activities and services, especially with the attribution of the EUR ING professional title, FEANI aims to facilitate the mutual recognition of engineering qualifications in Europe and to strengthen the position, role and responsibility of engineers in society.

    The 1st ISPIM Innovation Symposium

    The 1st ISPIM Innovation Symposium - Managing Innovation in a Connected World - will be held in Singapore on 14-17 December 2008. Organised by ISPIM together with Singapore Management University, this symposium will bring together academics, business leaders, consultants and other professionals involved in innovation management. The aim of this symposium is to stimulate discussion and connect people from different backgrounds and cultures. The format will include facilitated themed sessions for academic and practitioner presentations together with interactive workshops and discussion panels. As with all ISPIM events, this symposium will provide excellent networking opportunities together with a taste of local culture.

    The International Advisory Panel (IAP) for the Division of Engineering and Technology Management has been appointed.

    Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

    In June 2008, the D-ETM signed a MOU with the Global Management of Technology Program, Seoul National University (SNU), of Korea for a period of 5 years.

    NUS researcher awarded IBM Faculty Award

    Congratulations to Prof Charanjit Singh Bhatia, who received the IBM Faculty Award 2008 for his project on Fabrication, Characterization and Performance of Thin film Si Photovoltaic (PV) cells.

    The IBM Award is a competitive worldwide programme intended to foster collaboration between researchers at leading universities worldwide and those in IBM researcgm development and services organisations.

    This award is a first for NUS faculty. Once again, congratulations to Prof Bhatia!

     

     


    Applications to the Masters programmes (Aug 08)

    Applications to our Masters programmes for the August 2008 intake is now CLOSED. Deadline for application is on 3rd March 2008.

    Applicants will know the results of their applications in late May.

     

     


    NUS Engineering Courses Announcement

     

    ICMIT 2008

    ICMIT2008 is the 4th International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology, first initiated by the IEEE Engineering Management Society Singapore Chapter in 2000. ICMIT2008 intends to bring together scholars, industrialists, and entrepreneurs interested in improving their research and development, and business applications in innovation and technology management across a global network of diverse platforms.

    This conference will be held on 21-24 Sept 08 at Bangkok, Thailand.

    Double Major in Management (Technology)

    There will be a new double major programme open up to non-BBA NUS undergraduates starting from August 2007.

    The Business School will offer the Major in Management (Technology) Programme ("Mgt(Tec) Major"), a Double (second) Major as part of NUS' Special Undergraduate Programmes, for students from all other faculties and schools. This Major is offered in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and the School of Design and Environment.

    Students may be admitted to the programme in one of the following ways:

    • Application by invited students just after they had been offered admissions to NUS, OR
    • Application by students during their first or second year of study.
