About The Awards
The Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards were instituted in 1989 and conferred on engineering alumni who have distinguished themselves nationally or internationally by their excellent and sustained contributions and achievements in public and community service; entrepreneurship; or in a profession or scholarly field.
To recognise deserving alumni, the Engineering Alumni Service Honours, were introduced in 2010 to honour engineering alumni who have distinguished themselves through rendering excellent service to NUS, the Faculty or the alumni community. This is to encourage alumni to continue contribution of their services.
Both Awards will be presented on an annual basis unless no appropriate candidates are identified.

The Award is open to:
| a) | Holders of a B.Sc. (Chemical Engineering) degree and graduates with B.Eng., M.Sc., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees from the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore or the former University of Singapore; |
| b) | Engineering graduates from Nanyang Technological Institute (with degrees conferred by the National University of Singapore). |
Assessment Procedure/Evaluation Criteria
Evaluation of nominees will be undertaken by a five-member Awards Committee, consisting of members from the Faculty, the Engineering Alumni Singapore (EAS) and one or two external member(s) qualified in the pertinent field(s) of expertise. Awards will not be made in the event that no deserving candidates are identified.

Awards Presentation
The nomination exercise will culminate in an Engineering Alumni Awards event to be held in Oct 2012.
At the 2011 Engineering Alumni Gala Dinner held on 14 Oct at the NUSS Kent Ridge Guild House, the Faculty presented the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award to Mr Tan Gee Paw and Mr Seah Moon Ming.
