Instructions for Authors
- All accepted papers would be published in
hard copy and CDROM. In order to achieve a timely publication, the hard copy
proceedings will be published directly from authors’ camera-ready hard copies,
while the CDROM will be published directly from the authors’ final PDF files.
- Authors should guarantee the quality of their
papers both in terms of content and language, in order to avoid rejection
by the reviewers.
- Authors also should adhere strictly to the
format instructions. The organizing committee reserves the right to return
accepted papers to the author(s) that do not fully comply strictly with the
format instructions given below.
- The page limit for each paper is 8
- Please note that each registration payment
entitles you to a MAXIMUM of THREE paper oral presentations
at the conference (it may be reduced if the final paper submissions are overwhelming).
Should you have additional papers to present, some will be reserved for poster
presentation. Alternatively, your additional paper(s) can be presented by
your co-author(s) under his/her registration entitlement.
- The mode of presentation (oral or poster)
for your paper(s) will be made known to you in due course.
- The deadline for submission of the full paper
is 15 January 2004.
Text Preparation and Submission
The text should be prepared according to the template provided (HIC2004_template.doc).
Please note the following submission procedure:
- For review,
upload acrobat file (.pdf) directly to website
- For final paper,
email one acrobat file (.pdf) and one Word file (.doc) to the secretariat
Please use your paper number as filename for identification (e.g., HICxxxx.pdf).
- In addition, courier one high quality
camera-ready hard copy to the conference secretariat at:

Authors are advised to take note of the following
key instructions before submission:

|3. Text area 7.6 by 5 inches?
|4. Text in 10 pt Roman?
|5. Spacing exactly 13 pt?
|6. Text fully justified?
7. Title block:
- Title is 12 pt Roman boldface, all upper
- Authors’ names are set in 10 pt Roman,
- Addresses are in 10 pt Roman italics
- Title block centred?
|8. Correct header on 1st page?
|9. 1st section heading is in 10 pt Roman
boldface, upper case?
|10. All pages numbered? (1st page – bottom
centre, other pages – top right corner)
|11. Figures & tables are clear?
|12. Equations aligned to left margin and
equation numbers flushed right?
