TEMASEK PROFESSORSHIP SCHEME

The Temasek Professorship Scheme was started by the National Science & Technology Board to attract world famous scientists to lead to engage in cutting edge research projects in Singapore. As leading research is brought to Singapore, the scheme provides opportunity for information and technology transfer.

The appointment of each Temasek Professor is for three years, during which time, the appointee will work with members of a university staff team on a strategic research project.

The Professorship is a highly competitive award given to leading researchers who have demonstrated an exceptional level of research achievement.

Main criteria for selection

· Must satisfy the university's requirements for an endowed professorship chair.

· Should have excellent academic credentials and is renowned as a leader in his field.

· Research should be in an area of significant importance to Singapore and has the potential to impact more than one technology cluster.

· Track record for building up good research teams.
